Introduction
This is my first real attempt at a website
and I have to thank Walter Pearce for some work and suggestions (involving
significant improvements) as to lay out etc of this Website. Since I am
not a graphic artist though you may have to bear with me while I get some
of the finer points worked out.
One of the reasons for building
this Website was to learn by doing things the hard way. It is being hosted
on a machine run and maintained by me so that I can explore the in's and
outs of running a web-server.
This does mean though that if I have
problems they may not be fixed as quickly as with a professionally hosted
site and doing it this way also costs a bit more, but I think it
is worthwhile for the experience. If you visit my website in the future
and find it down - please be patient and try again later.
While I
mention this it seems that my area of Sydney seems to be approaching third
world levels of reliability with regards to power, with the number of
power failures we appear to have been suffering lately - and I have not
always been in a position to restart my web server immediately following
the restoration of power. While the last power failure occurred during
a thunder storm (so presumably it was due to Lightning damage) Energy
Australia (our power provider) publish no information anywhere on what
caused the power failures (only our most recent failure could be
attributed to bad weather) and as a customer I have to say that I find
these unexplained mystery failures somewhat frustrating. Of course
this means that I really do have to get a UPS for my web server....
Currently I have a Page with some Educational notes I am writing
up. These Notes cover Electronics, Computing and Audio they are free
to download and use.
The Luddite covers some of my thoughts on
the myths, misunderstandings and mis-applications of modern
Technology.
DIY Electronic projects With some Audio, Computer and
test Electronics to build. Circuit boards and full constructional
notes for these projects are or will be made available for sale.
To save the bother of searching my website for any new additions I
will list them here:
